The future of Shifter

Shifter (Dissonance Game Jam Edition)
A browser game made in HTML5

Hey there!

I'm Daniel, the leader of OKNO Games (our little team of four).

As you might now, this year we participated in the Brackeys Game Jam 2022.1 and made Shifter (the game you are probably looking at right now :O). It's been an amazing journey and I'm happy to announce that this is not the end!
We can't thank the people enough who left a rating on our game. It's really amazing that we came 87th place with this little game we actually really messed up in the making.

What now?

I have some good and some bad news. (Of course lol)

Good news is: I'll continue working on the game!
Bad news is: I'll be the only one working on it.

I didn't want to drop this fun concept so it became my very own solo project.

Full release?

Yes, I'll keep developing the game until it's ready to be released!
I have absolutely zero idea how long it'll last, but I'll try keeping all of you updated. Probably on my Twitter account: @oknodev.

I'm really excited towards this. It will hopefully be my first commercial release and I'm really hoping it will work out the way I want it to work out.

Okay, but what about the game?

The game is currently going under a complete rewrite. Originally we made it in Unity. But I'm a lot more comfortable with GameMaker so I'm currently rewriting the entirety of our "core engine" inside it. It's actually going pretty well to say the least heh.

There have been a bit of an art style change. It's still minimalistic but I felt like I wanted to add more character into it.

Anything else?

Well, I can only hope I won't mess this up., but apart from that this is all I can currently show.

For more updates go to my twitter (linked above).
Take care!
