There’s exciting new stuff in this release of Cardbob: Revival (Wishlist now), let’s take a look at what’s going on.
Hit M or the ‘view’ button on your controller to bring up a map that serves as an overview to the rooms you’ve been to, it also allows you to teleport to rooms that are open when you’re out of combat. This is an important feature for us to hit as future updates will feature the ability to come to previously closed gates and open them at a cost however with the chance of finding tasty rewards!
Haggling is an important part of the loop, it’s seen a couple of further improvements since the last time there was an update, these upgrades include:
Double click buttons, roll that perfect-circle of a mouse wheel to choose the right option, this was a huge effort to improve across the board, but super worth it.
Additionally, we started implementing a new system that updates buttons based on the input device you’re using at the moment.
We do a lot of iterating, as any reasonable game developer would, thanks to your feedback and you testing the alpha versions, we iterated on the combat mechanics taking it a step further. You are now free to move regardless. Throwing the sword will still slow you down a little bit, but that’s about it.
Take a look! This was a common pain point so we went back to the black magic of shaders and made it a tad more obvious when you’re low on health
The level up UI was not ideal at first, came up too quickly, left as quickly as well, here’s a better version of it! Not only have upgrade cards got a makeover but also when you level up there’s first a notification and you get the pop up only a second later, making sure you get to position yourself as you please before getting to choose an upgrade
That’s it folks! Thanks for reading, be sure to give the game a play on your favourite device, let us know what you thought and naturally be sure to wishlist the game now.
