In the previous version of the design doc, I was voicing my intent behind a certain portion of the design, but something was not sitting right. The intent was there, but I had a hunch that I missed something.
I decided to revisit the feature and updated the design doc as well with a more detailed explanation (warning: contains spreadsheet and dice rolls!)
