#Dev Log 6 #Combat Tutorial #Step by Step Tutorial #Bullet Hell Reverence #Simplified tutorial
First, let's go over the basics. With Combat, there is first initiative. The DM or Dungeon Master or GM/Game Master, asks the party to roll who goes first and that's the 1d20 stated in the rulebook. So, if someone gets a 20 or 19, for example. They will go first, and the others who get lower or middle numbers will go 2nd and so on. Now, since this game system involves some PVP and Narrative combat. You can deal with the narrative play, on the side once the combat is finished. This can be like, your pilot forcing the enemy (player) or (NPC) to surrender if they are at a dangerous amount of health, like 25% for example. You don't ALWAYS have to kill them. Even though, the rules state it. Homebrewing it like that, is acceptable. Now, continuing on to step 1, whoever won the round of Initiative shall use their weapons to hit against anyone who is open. Now, players will have defense rolls. These defense rolls go from 2d6 rolls, 3d6 rolls, 4d6 rolls, or so on. The tutorial and everything is down below. This is just a background of what ya need to know, when playing the game system.
So first, let's start with the steps already stated already.
Step 1: initiative, players roll for who goes first. Each roll for a 1d20 to see will start the round first.
Step 2: Whoever won the round of initiative, they will use the weapons that is on their Mecha which has rolls on their character sheet, the players that chose them in the Armament section within the rulebook. So, for example, a 5d6 beam magnum that has a hit of 14 and a player who connects with it, will subtract the damage.
Step 3: So, for example, if a player who has a defense roll of 14 gets attacked by an NPC/Player with a Beam magnum of 16, it's to be suggested that the Shield ended up blocking some of the attack. So, in this case; the mathematics would be subtraction in this case. So, 16-14=2 so, your Mecha health goes down two points in the round. So, instead of the Mecha's health being 100 like it was, during character creation. It is now 98 because of the Damage the Magnum did, but thanks to the Defense roll, it's a lot less and not as lethal. Which is good.
Step 4: Now, for example if the 5d6 Beam Magnum roll was a 20 or 23, now if we were to say that the 4d6 roll for the shield was a 30 or higher, then you would Evade any incoming attacks and no damage would come to you, considering the hit wouldn't land at that point.
Now that's the tutorial. I hope this was simplified and helpful. If it was, please leave a like and comment down below the Log. :)
