The launch of my first game: Kirby and the Mysterious Apples

Kirby and the Mysterious Apples
A browser game made in HTML5

I present a small game that I developed. This project started as an assignment for the software development class I'm taking and seeing the end result, I decided to share it.

Don't expect too much, we didn't even have a month to develop it (most of it done in the free time, outside therefore the class hours) and I was in a team of 2 people, however compared to what I had set at the beginning, we managed to expand it even more than necessary.

Initially it was born as a remake of the first level of Blowout Blast (for those who don't know it was the first real 3D Kirby title, released on the EShop of the 3DS) so the game does not feature the classic Kirby abilities, the gameplay is thus focused on chaining combos by defeating enemies quickly and thus getting more points. There are also objectives and a final score with a rating for each level.

It was a very interesting project, it is the second one I was developing and it helped me to understand many fundamental aspects, related to settings and working methods to speed up the whole development process by starting with objects that are as independent as possible from the others but able to communicate with each other. This allowed me to create even more layers than planned, the complete realization of one taking me only a 3/4 hours.

The game was developed with Unity.

I hope you enjoy it and I welcome feedback and ideas!
