The rating period of the jam is over, so I can start releasing some updates. This time I focus on general quality of life improvements, and a couple of bug fixes. In future updates I will improve the dialogue system of the game, some of the graphical effects, the menu system, and I will have a look at performance.
As it turns out, there were some highly demanding elements left in the level from an early prototype, massively bringing the frame rate down. The performance should now be on par with the rest of the game. You can read more about it [HERE].
It was hard to know what the current objective is. The accessible dialogue log wasn't always that helpful, and it would be wiped out on death. Now there is a clear(er) mission statement in the upper part of the screen, accessible through [TAB] as the rest of the HUD. You can read more about it [HERE].
It could be hard to know where the main door was. This should help.
In some parts of the level the player could clip through the wall and see the other side. This has been improved in some areas at least.
