If HONK 3.0 has one overarching theme, it's STABILITY. I'm fixing just a couple tiny things in the UI and will pushing it live this weekend (6/4 or 6/5). So, what's different?
HONK's audio system has been entirely replaced. You'll notice that your characters are more responsive. You'll also notice that desync issues have been fixed!
The shortcut system has been causing creative streamers grief by responding to shortcuts when the app isn't focused. This is resolved now!
HONK has had various fixes throughout the project. Most too small, but all from the amazing bug-reports everyone has been sharing with me in the Itch.io thread. Thank you everyone for sharing the roadbumps you've hit! It's invaluable to HONK's development.
I'm not certain if I'll be supporting frame APNGs or GIFs, let me know which you'd prefer! But up next I'm working on adding animation support to HONK.
HONK has been a blast to work on and I'm excited to keep it up. I had a 2-month long hiatus while my day-job and burnout pulled me away from the project. Thank you all for your patience and continued support of HONK.
In the interim I worked on ToDoMon (a game that will come out someday... Also where HONK's frog mascot Grombit is from) and Eronoctosis (which is available now). Working on them has been a breath of fresh air and I'm excited to get back to HONK.
