The main addition in this update is a whopping 120 new monsters; adding about an additional third to the existing monster count. Now, you should only see 'at level' monsters about 3-6 times per region, instead of 8-12, so hopefully that makes battles more interesting and more distinct per region and more distinct on when you do said region. The chance of high-level outliers has also been dramatically reduced, so you're much less likely to get slaughtered by a Waspior in the first hours of the game.
The other major thing worth pointing out is the addition of a predicted turn order, available by pressing Esc during any of your characters' turns. It's a small addition all told, but I personally feel adds a ton to giving the player a better feeling of control over the battle.
Two additional sidequests have also been added. Some balancing, board cleanup, and bug fixes were also done.
