Episode 1, Patch 1.6.
WayfarerA browser Interactive Novel made in HTML5
Hi friends,
Patch 1.6. is out! This is a general UI patch, alongside some bug, continuity and typo fixes. If you continue to encounter errors that have been fixed, you may need to start a fresh file.
This is not a content update.
Important Note for Current/Active Playthroughs
If you are playing a current Episode 1 save, your companion and faction profiles may be locked until you start Episode 2. If you want to see your companion/faction profiles during Episode 1, you MUST start a NEW file.
Patreon Build Update
Episode 2 was completed on the alpha build on May 12, 2022. Its public release is TBD. Episode 3 will start development next week.
Patch 1.6 Notes
UI
General
- Updated the game menus. The Journal, Codex, Inventory, and Map menus now open as an overlay on top of the game and rather than navigating through different passages.
- Updated the companion and faction profile designs.
- Updated the post-episode Level Up Screens
- Added new icons for various choices (cycles for dialogue loops, X for leaving dialogue or a scene early, etc)
- Removed the tutorial menu and replaced it with a condensed page that lists the various icon/symbol meanings
- Added a name confirmation popup when selecting your name to help players ensure that they didn't make any errors before they proceed
- Added a notification explaining how the sober flag works if the MC chooses the "I don't drink" option in Zenaida's tavern scene
- Added a notification for desktop players explaining to click on the map to navigate during Exploration
Systems
- Added a toggle for skill check and approval/romance/rapport notifications. Toggling the setting off means you will no longer see these notifications (you will still pass/fail your skill checks, you just won't be notified!)
- Expanded the letterscript toggle to include all additional text decorations (i.e. blurred text for drunk scenes)
Gameplay
- Fixed a major bug in Episode 1 Route B where, after being injured and waking up on the ship, the player hit a dead passage that prevented them from progressing to the end of the episode. You should be able to finish the episode now on this path.
- Minor spelling/grammar fixes
- Continuity fixes in Episodes 1
- Aeran's romance bar will now show up in his profile after flagging his romance during his introduction. If you have an ongoing Episode 1 save and have not reached the episode's end, you MUST start your save file over from the beginning for the bar to show up.
