#Children of the Phoenix
Production has been a bit slow over the past month but, I'm getting back into the swing of things. I'm not sure when the next update will be out; I don't want to publish small story updates, I'd rather wait until I have a large chunk of plot progress to release. I'm hoping the next release will go out in a couple of months.
Technology corner.
Since I work in a 3D production environment, I've looked into some interesting tech goodies.
-360 degree images. I've created some 360-degree images of the commune using some fancy software. The results while interesting weren't that great and didn't look like they'd add to the story. Idea sidelined.
-Augmented Reality. AR is sort of cool. I did tinker with it a bit and was able to generate a 3D model of one of the story characters into my living room! Interesting but a lot of work to set up. But like the 360-degree images of limited use right now for story production. Idea sidelined.
-Virtual Reality. This has some potential. I'm currently working on a visual novel port to a VRChat world. In the first trial, I'm just trying to place the flat images into the world with controls to flip through the images and text boxes in sequence. This project is in the early block out stage but, if and when I have a demo I'll post the in-world link. The other VR possibility is for a stand-alone VR visual novel app. My vision is for the player to be placed in the actual scene watching the story unfold. Closest I've seen out there is a VR visual novel called Tokyo Chronos. Would like to do something similar but, that's a way off.
Thought it would be interesting to show some production software images. This is the size of the map in use, the red circle is where the commune is located.
