Update (17/05/22) - Updated character sprites!

Pulsatio Cordis (FULL GAME)
A downloadable visual novel for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Hello hello! I come bearing great news!

But first, some minor updates:

  • I changed the gender customisation screen at the beginning to refer exclusively to gender rather than pronouns and gender. Sorry for the mistake! I understand that there's a distinction between the two.
  • I added some new dialogue for when you're telling Liev about yourself, both to give MC more of a personality of their own and as a hint to future events in the game...
  • Added a 'dust' particle effect which will appear in a few scenes. This is mostly to test out how it would look at the moment, so please let me know if you come across any problems!
  • Added new main menu music!

Now! With those out of the way, it's time for the great news...

I updated Liev's character sprite!

To be completely honest, I'm much more used to drawing feminine features than masculine ones (though I have been trying to get into a more varied art style this year),  so when I was drawing Liev's original character sprite,  I gave him shoulders that were way too narrow and a head that looked a little too big for his body, as well as a nose too high on his face.

The more I had to look at his sprites, the more I began to hate and nitpick them... so I decided to redraw everything. The sprite poses, the expressions, etc... And now I actually really like how he turned out!  I hope you guys will like it as well :)

And that's everything important I can think of! As for progress on the main game, I'm happy to report that:

  • 6 of the 13 planned CGs have been implemented
  • The story is roughly 3/5 of the way done. I've written up to the very end of the date, but soon I will have to tackle the part with the most branches: the endings!

ALSO! Thank you so much for nearly 2000 downloads! The support has been absolutely incredible, almost overwhelming, even. I'm sorry that I tend to reply so late to some people's comments! Sometimes your comments make me so giddy, that people actually downloaded and played my game, that they saw all of my work and liked it, that I have no idea how to express that sentiment in words. But just know that every single kind comment and review keeps me motivated to keep working on the game, to see the rest of the story come to life!

I'd also like to make a special mention to the people who make fanart of Liev. It just makes me think, "Oh my God, this person liked him so much that they studied my art of him and put in hours of work to interpret him in their own style." And all of the fanart I've seen has been amazing. Seriously, I wish I could give you guys a big hug! (too bad for Covid...)

Thank you so much again for all of the support, and I hope that everyone stays safe! Just for fun, here's what Liev would look like genderbent (What would her name be? Lizz? Lena?)

Thanks for reading!

- Lucia
