#8 Sprint Two Finalized

SquirrelMania
A downloadable game for Windows

So now we are done, right?

With the exception of upgrading our small combat system, this week was all about implementing, debugging, tweaking and repeat ;)) Lots of particles, sound effects, and animations have been made to cover up all the existing mechanics. Want to check out our progress since last week? Compare it here: #7 Meet Sid, Mel, Yan & Nic - [Group 15]SquirrelMania by NielsBernaerdt, Yanouk Verleysen, SiyunMaes, NicolasNeveDae, Merlijn Heylen (itch.io)

Particles: Last week we already talked about how particles are a perfect example of a subtle, but important form of player feedback. Lots of them have been implemented so let us show some additional examples:

Sound effects: I am gonna be honest here: this feels a little bit hard to show you guys, so maybe it would be an idea to download SquirrelMania and test it out? yes? ;)

Dunk 'em! So we have our main mechanics, we have some objects spawning throughout the level, we have the physical interaction between players. What is missing? I'll give a hit: a good ol' smash on the ground. No more awkward hanging in the air while your friend runs beneath you.

Coming soon

  • More already made stuff to implement (RFX, SFX, ...)
  • Smoothen out the combat & make it feel perfect
  • Fix some of the animations not looking that good in a loop
  • Get you guys a scoring system to actually prove that the player who won, won
  • and a whole lot more polishing...
