Road towards vertical slice

Under Siege
A browser game made in HTML5

So, a few days ago, I shared my interest in expanding this game. Since then I managed to stream most weekdays at @cucadev [1]

This is going to be a small post about what I did so far and some news.

This game "core" is essentially done: we have a simple AI, a structure for building as units creation and the game UI is working. I'm focusing right now on making a ready vertical slice demo in order to get feedback and keep iterating (depending of the feedback I'll either move to another project or prepare an initial Steam page for this), although I'm already biased in moving further with this game.

So the goal here is fixing some bugs, finishing an initial interface design and giving it to you folks to play.

The biggest changes you can expect from Under Siege is:

- the game is now turn-based;

- no more emojis graphics;

- it will have some "roguelike" elements;

- the gameplay will be a bit more of a strategy game rather a "tower defense".

Other than that, there are some "news" that I'd love to share:

First of all, get to know Softwool, an indie game development collective. If this game gets to Steam (and of course it will be released here as well), it will be launched under Softwool's name.

And to complement it, we're launching the Steam page for our first release, PISTOLA. Wishlist is now on Steam! We'll also create an itch.io page soon, so stay tuned!
