Update (24-Apr-2022)
Hi All, I want to give a quick update.
I have 4 good news from last week.
- Last week, AshenCold had a great idea, that maybe we can break down for the player, how the mission payment value is calculated. I gave it a go, and I was able to make a panel that kinda does it for us. It's off by default, but you can turn it on in the settings window.
- I took some time to look into UI and audio packs, and I was able to update the UI. I was hesitant to do this, because I thought it would take a while, but it wasn't too bad. I like how it came out. The buttons even make new beep boop noises.
- I was able to unlock the rest of the outfit obligations, so you can now have the main character dress in more deprave ways. The new obligations have a requirement of the relationship level becoming 3 or higher for some, and 5 or higher for others. I still have not created any scenes for these, yet (but the new doll art is indeed added and visible, now), and there are a ton of other obligations to implement, as well. But, I'm happy I unlocked these, because now I can focus on making a more in-depth dress-up/undress system later on, too.
- I added a few shortcuts. For example, when you return to your plane with a job, the game automatically takes you to the cargo bay, since that's where the next step is. Overall, I think this will save you 3 clicks for every mission. I might tweak this further. There's a couple of reasons why I don't want to do this everywhere. For one, there are some places where I want to add random events, so I don't want to skip over those steps. Secondly, I do want the player to feel like they are doing it, and also, I want it to be a bit tedious for the player, just like it is for the main character, herself. So, there's a balance to be struck.
Anyway, testing is going fine, but I want to do some more, thorough testing. So, that's my plan for next week. If all goes well, I plan to release 0.2 next week.
On another note, I found this iteration of the game to be quite easy, especially compared to the last one. This bothered me for a while, but now I'm actually pretty happy with it. What I might do later on is add a button that lets you finish the game early, if you can pay off the remaining debt. That way, you can race to see how fast you can beat the game.
