With the launch of issue #1 I've gotten a lot of questions, which I will try to capture here. If you have additional questions feel free to drop them in the comments below!
It kind of depends on how well it does. It's really like a side-side project (I have a real job, plus I do indiedev, and now this too). I imagine maybe 4 times a year, but really it will come down to when I have enough cool inside scoops on new games. I'm not really interested in rehashing stuff that's covered elsewhere.
This issue is 20 pages, and I think that is probably where most will sit. Just that took a few months to put together. Hopefully next one goes quicker, but I don't want to spend too much time on this.
I would love to cover all retro consoles, and maybe some computers. NES and GB are kind of my bread and butter so it naturally skewed that way, but I would really love to get some Genesis and SNES in there next time if possible!
Plan is to only cover upcoming games, which haven't been widely covered already. I'm trying to make each page a hidden gem if possible.
I'm open to tech as well if there is something interesting.
I intentionally picked saddle-stick because I prefer it. I like being able to open a magazine on the table and not have it close up on it's own, but I know it's subjective. I still remember when Nintendo Power made the switch to Saddle and I didn't like it at the time. It would raise the cost a bit to use square-back and has a larger minimum page requirement (I can't remember how high it is though), but if that's what a significant majority prefer, I would be ok making the switch.
Not at this time. If it does well, I will consider it! I do have a mailing list though: https://mailchi.mp/2e9a2f52ec23/retrobrewmag
