Hi everyone,
Andy Wang here. Lead designer behind Inkless. Today, the UCSC Sammy's Showcase began and concluded the last day that I was to work on Inkless as an undergraduate.
The last year has been a wild ride. With many hours spent on iterating the design over and over, to the constant struggles of coding a truly interactive world where every visual element was intended to serve a purpose for the player, the amount of work that I and my teammates went through was incredible. I learned incredible values of leadership, game design, group vision, and what I could improve to negate issues that occurred in all those fields I led.
This game is a marker - its code, visuals, and designs speak of the hours and ideas that each and every team member has put forth for the project. I am very proud of each and every one of them. I hope you, the wandering player, who has stumbled upon it out of pure curiosity, can look past its imperfections. I wish Inkless was perfect, but I love it all the same.
Will this project see updates? Perhaps. The future is uncertain, but the experience that I underwent alongside these other dedicated individuals has taught me so much. When the next opportunity arrives, I cannot wait to see what comes next.
Thank you,
Andy Wang
