Roll Down finally enters Early Access p1

Roll Down
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
Wow how did this happened one year with not a single post or Update, any way I am finally back (at least for the next 4 months) and now I want to show you what I have done.

So lets start what did I develope in that time?

AI:

The first feature I did is build an AI for the new racing mode as requested from one of the players. After experimenting for a while with different things like torque calculation and following a spline I ended up with a setup that is like a car wheel that is connected with a spring and damper system to an air plane that is moving a long the track.

After I decided to add a tracing system that is inspired by the parking sensors you find in a modern car. This system helps the AI recognize the location of the player or other AI to overtake or let overtake them. In the following Video you can see a small demonstration of the system.

Last but not least we have the drafting system which let the player accelerate beyond the maximum speed if he is following the AI. Of coarse the AI has the same ability when following the player or other AI. For the difficulty my goal is it to build a system that collects all speeds on the server and can than determine the necessary speed for each player based on the data from other players.. This will be similar to the system used in the Forza series.
