Wow!! The demo is out...!!! Happy tears...
First off – a massive thank you.
To my wonderful partner, for their unending support and love;
to my friends, for their hype, patience, and for getting me through playtesting hell;
to online communities, for being so welcoming and inclusive (and hyping me up no matter what I do)
– and of course to my cat, for demanding to sit on my lap and thus forcing me to take a break from programming lest she claw my chair.
I went into this with zero experience in game making. I've never even touched code before – undoubtedly that has been the biggest learning curve for me. This game literally began with me googling "how to make a game with renpy".
I'm sure my coding is extremely simple and not very elegant or efficient... My number 1 goal for Travellers Road was to keep everything as simple as possible so I could actually finish it within the month. And I did, so I'm proud! I know it's not perfect, but it feels very rewarding to see a finished product.
I put a lot of love and care into this game, and fear not, I plan to finish the whole thing! But after a month long of crunching deadlines, I'm going to take a little break to recharge.
