This is the first dev log for my new project Chroma!
Chroma is a short, retro survival horror game set in a mysterious hotel where you take control of the unsuspecting protagonist and attempt to navigate through the hotel to defeat the force keeping the guests there. Inspired by classic games such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill, you will need to gather clues, find keys, and solve puzzles.
Firstly, for this game I'll be using:
I really enjoy the PS1/PSX style of graphics and the games people make with them. I think it provides low/no budget developers a way to provide a pretty neat experience to the players. One of my first games in a similar style, and one that inspired me to attempt game dev is DUSK.
What do I have so far?
Currently, the project is just a short prototype, and features most of the desired features include:
What's left to do?
The remaining features currently in development include inventory, combat, and cinematics.
Why post a dev log on a game that hasn't come out yet?
A good amount of work on this project has already been done before I decided to announce the project. Included in this dev log are some images taken from the current build of the game. I wanted to try and let people know about the game before I drop it to try and get a following before the game's release and to let people know what I am currently working on as I go. Later this week I intend to release a short demo video showcasing my progress on the game.
When will it be released?
There is no date set in stone yet, but hopefully before the end of April.
How much will it cost?
The game will cost $2 but will be on sale for a dollar for a short while when it does.
