A new version of Wieldo is out, and it improves all the things !!
Apparently it has already been 42 days since 0.1 was released which means Wieldo has had six whole weeks to grow up into 0.2 and is now 12 weeks old! As I hinted in the last devblog when talking about the roadmap, a lot of technical things have happened during the last six weeks and although it hasn't always brought new gameplay, it is very exciting for the game that these things have happened.
Let me guide you through those changes.
One very noticeable change from 0.1 to 0.2 is that the main toolbar is gone. The previous inventory was working but also invisible and unmanageable. Instead of having a half finished inventory/item system, you can now destroy and build blocks without limit. This will change when a proper inventory system is added to the game.
Placing and destroying blocks has become way simpler with the introduction of the build mode!
This mode allows you to build around you without having to place your character in awkward positions in an effort to aim at the right block.
Also there are now some cool particles when placing or destroying blocks! ✨
The game now features 11 blocks instead of 3, with brand new textures! And that's not all. Some of these blocks can be cycled through to place the exact variation you might want to build, like the grass block or the slabs.
The list goes as follows:
A new debug screen can now show how well the game is running. This screen can be displayed by pressing F6. The frame rate can be uncapped by pressing F3 + V (for Vsync).

That's it for 0.2! Thanks for tuning in, it's time for me to work on 0.3 already 👨🏭
