Chapter 6 - Dev Note 1

A Town Called Tool
A downloadable visualnovel for Windows, macOS, and Linux

You might be aware that Daz Studio released a big update to their program, I updated after finishing chapter 5 and to my complete shock, I found the ghost lights and lighting rigs I set up in each room would no longer work. Apparently, the way ghost lights worked included what the developers considered to be a bug and they fixed that, therefore screwing up a lot of developer's scenes that used ghost lights. Also, Daz Studio doesn't provide old versions, so I can't uninstall the new update or go back to the previous version.

This has set me back but I did quickly find a solution to doing ghost lights and how to light up my scenes now. Sadly, renders were coming out with more noise (looked fuzzy), so I've had to increase how long I render an image for now (2 hours to 5 hours).  This is only related to indoor scenes and not outdoor scenes, so that is something.

I can't deny the new lighting actually does look really good and better, but it sucks that it takes me longer to render an image now. I swear I felt after chapter 5 I was in the clear and could just batter on with the remaining chapters too, so yeah, this all sucks but is what it is.

Even though I have been figuring this all out, I have managed to get some work done on chapter 6, just haven't rendered as many images I usually would have, I can only do 2 when I sleep now instead of 4.

There will be 142 images in total and 15 scenes.
