We are now in the second week of our 3 week sprint, the games controls are really starting to come together and the character is now ready for animation! The environment has seen a lot of change, we looked over the layout of the level a lot and have started iterating on our block-outs. Furthermore we spent some time tech art side of things: the water is now in the game and the first version of the house generation tool is working.
Our first character has been fully rigged and is ready to be animated!
The first version of the house building tool is now there! It works with cube inputs and generates a layout for you. Right now the tool will put all the cubes into one cluster of houses, generate doors, edge damage and a place where the roof will be placed.
Besides some UI upgrades: we have spent a lot of time on improving the feeling, and adding player feedback such as the blinking seen above.
The blockout has been editted! Paths are wider and less steep so that the player know where to go and where to look! A secret path has been added to bring the player from the middle plaza to the lowest plaza when the water lowers back beach-height. Try to find this path and use your jump at the right time!
The first bycicle has also been added: the tricycle! This stylized tricycle is real fun-looking and will be lot's of fun to play with.
The pizza model is ready to launch at it's target! Take an item box and get this item once or three at the same time. Aim and shoot at the other players to claim their coins!
As we dive deeper into development next week, we will give you a sneak peak at our current arsenal of items and a lot of changes on the visual side of the project.
