Day 9
This is the end of the jam, and today I did:
Today, my first goal was to fix the collision masks, a simple but boring goal as I just had to select where the vertices would go for each individual object. Then I decided to work on some simple but easy to create tools such as removing forces, anchors and removing anchors so I could make the game more enjoyable whilst not using much of the last time I have to edit the game which I think went well as I did it quickly and managed to do a lot today as a result.
My next goal was to add asteroids to the create tool which was a bit annoying because when I originally set the Asteroid sprites up, it was just one sprite with a lot of different animations, different to other sprites which I now regret making different, even if it did save time originally. Afterwards because the game was in a good shape I removed the prompts asking people to check the game again Incase of updates, which won’t happen until at least after the voting period now, if I update the game.
Then I decided to look for some music and SFX and because I wanted to go for something sci-fi I decided to check the bundle for Ukraine game assets which I purchased to see if there was any good music / SFX, which I picked two packs that seemed relevant and enjoyable. I then added all of the sounds to the game, fixed a bug relating to them and then had a quick test simulation where I noticed time wasn’t stopping everything from moving when set to 0X, which I then fixed.
Overall, I feel I made the right decision to pick this idea to make when I chose it at the start of the jam, simple but allowed me to finish it on time, even if I didn’t add a settings menu like I usually do. Thanks for reading, and hopefully we can compete in another jam again if you were also a developer in this jam and good luck with the ratings!
