Loot.
I love it, you love it, we all love it. So how does it work in Tenril?
Well, it can be gotten in a wide variety of ways. Currently, you can get loot from pickups in the environment, chests, or the classic "I want that guy's stuff so I'm gonna shank him for it".
Other than these methods, there are a few more that are being planned for and will be developed in the future. These include your standard shop keepers and quest rewards, as well as a crafting system that is coming closer and closer to being created as the resource gathering prototypes progress.
What may be interesting to some of you are details on how the game generates and manages loot for enemies and chests. This is achieved through custom loot tables that can be specially tailored and adjusted for a dynamic experience. The items and equipment that enemies use are dependent on their loot tables, where we can specify items that they must have, items that have a chance of spawning, and even a type of item that they should spawn with at least one of, such as a random type of weapon.
Although many of these features are still in development, the current framework is very expansive and we are all looking forward to making it even better for your looting experience.
Hope you enjoyed this short little read and happy looting!
