Day 7
The seventh day has passed, and today I did the following:
Today, the first thing I wanted to do was finish the applying force tool so that I could start the create object tool today, finish it tommorow and then polish the game afterwards before submitting it. I found out a few of the variables were set wrong so after fixing them by looking through the debugger, it started to work.
Next I decided to add another prompt at the start of the game so that I could consider allowing people to test the game before the jam ends so if someone played this before voting, they would atleast get a warning about changes would occur between now and later however when I decided to test a web build later on, I found this instead of a start game button
Although I am likely to lose voters from voting by not putting a web build on the page, from now on I have no option but to not provide a web build unless I want to remove assets which I don’t want to do as I would be losing stuff that I had spent time on making or adding to the game so I would’ve wasted time which in a game jam, you should avoid unless you are ahead of schedule because you can at least relax a bit.
Then I decided to work on the create object tool. Ive decided to create a small bar on the right of the screen which will have all of the prompts and it will start with a choice of different object menus with each menu allowing different objects. For example if I click on “Large”, the largest objects will be shown which I can choose from to pick what I want adding.
Although this is a short devlog, I feel this is caused by less small tasks and more big tasks at this point compared to earlier on, so there’s less to talk about so, thanks for reading.
