Time for an update! This is version 0.5.1. No new features, but a few well needed adjustments to systems already in place.
Changelog:
Game Balance: *Block swapping now takes place AFTER the animation, instead of before. As a result, a block that was swapped onto empty space will only fall after the swap animation has concluded. *Score multiplier bonus per level has been increased. (0.091 instead of 0.025) As a result, score multiplier at lv 99 is now ~x10, instead of ~x3.5. *Score now caps out at 999,999. *Level requirement multiplier reduced from .25 to 0.1. (Takes longer for level req to hit 99.) *If game time exceeds 30 minutes, your level will automatically start increasing until it reaches 99. *The game now avoids vertical matches when generating new rows at the bottom. This should hopefully reduce how often you see matches just automatically happen when a new row becomes active. (NOTE: This was already being done when generating the initial set of tiles, but not while you were actually playing.) Misc. *Fixed being able to set volume to -5%. (You may need to edit the settings file in a text editor to truly fix this.) *Text shadows are now a dark gray instead of pure black. *Game controls guide added to options menu. (Still no rebindable controls, sorry.) *Godot Engine updated to version 3.4.3.
You can hopefully expect to see some new features implemented within the coming weeks. A top priority will be rebindable controls, as I feel that will be almost mandatory for a Local VS mode to work. (Which would then be what an online mode is based on)
