#Changelog
I've already had two patches in two days! Thanks to everyone who played the game and gave me their thoughts.
I'm happy to see there are even people trying this out on emulator - I swear the colors will be better later. I've resigned myself to having to make 2 versions of the game: One with colors for Web/HTML gameplay, and one set of colors from ROM gameplay. The colors just don't sync, and it's very hard to test the ROM colors.
There's been a good number of struggles making a Gameboy Game. I've made a game for the Genesis before, which was similarly a pain in terms of tech issues, but at that time I at least wasn't the one programming.
I'm already VERY excited to move on back to Unity or Construct after this. I don't think I'll make another Gameboy Game. I love polish WAY too much to limit myself to 90's issues.
Stuff I've had to cut because it's just a bit too complex for the Gameboy to safely keep up with it:
I'm still planning on putting in stuff like a really simple tiny fishing game to get items between levels. This is sort of pointless, but I want to put a fishing game in everything I make. I'm also going to try and put in "pushable" objects to deal damage to enemies, as well as a Schmup section, just because that actually is pretty easy.
The biggest thing I'm seeing that's bad for my game is it is harder than I expected. I want this to be an experience that even newcomers can approach pretty easily, but still feel engaging to moderate or expert players. I think in the long run this first level will get simplified a bit more, but I probably won't do those edits for a couple weeks as I am now deep into making stage 2 and 3.
CHANGES FOR .1B:
I might do a .1C if I see anything else I consider major, otherwise I'll wait on any other changes for the release stages 2+3!
