So I obviously missed last week, why? Well just before I did what I hoped would be the final test to get a sense of improvement and I managed to a much larger group of folks beta testing. As a side effect two major bugs were exposed and I have been mostly scrambling to figure out there cause and get them fixed. Then I also managed to get some more useful play testing (which I had hoped to talk more about, but I'll keep things brief since I am tired and it is late) so I have a handful more improvements to get in. Primarily on account of the two bugs I opted to push off launch two weeks.
What are the bugs? Well one was the one mentioned in the last update about Walking Tourist, definitely was not fixed. I am pretty sure I have it fixed now, although I wasn't able to get as much data out of it as I want. Sadly the person who found it hasn't yet gotten back to me about if a fix I have pushed out is working (on a side note, if you have an iPhone 6+ and are willing to, please get in touch and I can set you up with a testflight build).
The second bug has been a bit more... frustrating. At first it seemed to be hitting all Pixel devices. Then a few days later it showed up on a non-Pixel device. The commonality? Android 8.1. With that it occurred to me I may get a repro in the sim (which I always forget about since it use to be terrible) and success! Very quickly I discovered it was the ad network. After some non-productive back and forth I have decided to switch networks and will hopefully have a fix very soon ready for that.
