The polishing phase of our game has started!
We're currently trying to improve our game without adding new content. It is important for players to know what's happening when they play and they should have good visual feedback of where they should go or how important certain objects are. Since it's the polishing phase and we won't add new features anymore we're trying to improve our game in its current state as much as possible for a smooth experience.
Small additions such as dust particles when the player lands, a particle swoosh effect when the sword is swung and a better visual feedback when getting hit are also implemented.
The level has been reworked as we should showcase our game in around 2-5 minutes so we cannot waste time in meaningless corridors. Therefor it is now shorter but more action packed! There is a small tutorial area followed by a level filled with skeletons and traps, once you reach the doors you'll have to do some jumping to avoid the toxic gas or traps until you get to fight the final boss once you reach the end of the level. You'll also notice that the visuals of the level look more polished now!
Lastly we're currently working on getting our functional UI in the game including a gold counter, a key slot and of course the health and stamina bar of the players.
We still have another week of polishing coming up so more quality of life updates are coming soon.
