Two big new features have been added, both of which are optional.
First of all is permadeath. Playing with permadeath isn't recommended, but you might feel it gives you a more authentic roguelike experience.
Second is the tutor. Turning this on will cause context-sensitive tutorial messages to appear at the top of the screen. I hope these make the game easier to understand, and make the 50+ page manual less necessary.
