Version T13 is now out! This week on Overcomet, more action ! more romance ! more betrayals! No, sadly this isn’t a tv show, what we have though is some more content, quality of life improvement and new features.
Compared to last week this one as been progressing in a timely fashion, I managed to continue working on the station map, making the UI more clear and adding an help section, there wasn’t as many bugs as I thought there’d be luckily enough.
I did spent a questionable amount of time to try to bring the artistic vision together and I’m still unsure of what I prefer but this week I experienced with Voxels, which I think could fit pretty well for the pixel art atheistic I’m going for, you’ll see I had 2-3 models using those, let me know what you think, those are not final though. I also came back on my decision and decided to remove solid shadows for now.
I also spent some time on changing the code for placing items. You can now preview your item as your placing it, rotate it, and snap it to grid. This should help you a lot in designing your perfect station.
Finally asteroids were added, (the new green blobs on the space map) now in addition of a planet and some moons asteroids will spawn. PLUS those asteroid refresh everyday, each day that passes in the real world will have different asteroids to offer you in game. For now you can use F1 to skip days.
Sadly R.F.P.T still isn’t back, perhaps next week.
Slowly but surely, features are getting more and more in place, so I’m switching my focus a bit on art and content, so I’ll still be doing art tests and such this week.
But I also want to put R.F.P.T back in the game, I need to figure out how I want to the player to be able to recruit new friends. I was thinking since they’re robots, maybe you could build them yourself or something ? Food for thought
Also need to start working on adding different planets, but for that I need more things to craft.
And possibly work on another mini-game like the one for mining, maybe what for taking care of plants, who knows.
I’ll leave it at that for today, this has been quite an hectic day, but I’ll see you all again next week!
