#major update #content #overhaul
Oh me oh my there's a lot to tell you about today!
As I was working on Ralph's Myth I ended up taking a hiatus to learn some coding skills as well as help program a discord bot for one of the RPG Maker servers I am a part of. I ended up making a game with the bot that has been very addictive, keeping other devs from getting their work done. I also ended up learning a lot about coding and gained experience and knowledge to bring back to Ralph's Myth.
So when I came back, I wrapped up the content I had planned to create for 1.4 and will now inform you of the wonderful changes!
Graytown is a bustling and busy town just southwest of the Gray Kingdom. It's a mining town which has been very prosperous for the Kingdom for a long time. They export all types of ores found within the caves that the town surrounds. It's the number one place for exporting raw materials that are then forged into weapons for the Gray Army.
So why would you want to go here? What with all these Gray soldiers moving about and enforcing their laws? Well, for starters, the mine is a bountiful resource full of ores and possibly more. Secondly, there's always something happening somewhere and people will want your help with something, so maybe you'll find yourself on a side quest. Who knows?
Since Ralph's Myth was launched I felt that the main features of the game - Crafting, Cooking, Mining, Fishing, etc - could be vastly improved to give a more enjoyable experience overall. I mentioned in a previous post, that Fishing and Mining would both be improved in ways that expanded these systems and gave purpose to levels. This involved creating a whole new way in which they function, so it took some time.
All types of crafting now have a unique experience formula, so leveling will be different than it was before. There are also far more recipes for you to learn as you level, as well as unique recipes informing you that you will need to complete a quest to create them. Cooking has been expanded as well due to more fish being introduced into the game, so you'll have lots to do while you roam the world. Alchemy is far more rewarding, allowing you to transmute items on the go as well as create Weak gems until you have access to an alchemy table. Crafting has seen its healing items be reworked and redundant ingredients have been removed as well as shortcuts to crafting specific recipes. This should help make the flow of the game feel much better.
I went over this in a previous post, as mentioned above, so I'll give a bit of a refreshed of what I've done.
Fishing: Fishing levels have been implemented properly. You have much more types of fish you can catch. You can catch crafting materials or "junk" while fishing. You can equip Lures to your Lure Belt from the Equip menu to improve which fish you can catch.
Mining: Mining levels have been implemented properly. There are a few new ores (with more to come). Every five levels, you gain more ore from the ore that you mine. You have the chance to get gemstones from every ore you mine.
There's been plenty of things fixed and changed. There's a couple new additions which bring quality of life to the game and new content. Please take a look:
