The end of the jam is here, and so Symphony of Soil is done! I will make small bug fixes over the next few days and be accepting feedback to make updates in the future, but for now the game is done!
So let's talk about how it went!
This is my tenth audio game, and it's gone smoother than any other! I felt like it went better than any other I have made, as expected, and there were almost no unexpected issues! Development went as well as I could have hoped, and I had a wonderful team mate in Omer Yilmaz that helped me an immense amount with audio!
The game:
For the actual game I decided to make a farm life simulator! Inspired by the Harvest Moon series I'm not aware of any blind accessible farm life sims, so I decided to take on the challenge of it. You can fish, farm, forage, upgrade tools, and make friends! With every action you take having a positive impact on your new home. There are 5 voiced NPC's in the game with voices made with Microsoft Azure services, and the narrator who will show up from time to time! There are instructions included with the game and I recommend checking them out, but the adventurous could figure it out by themselves!
There are a small number of graphics for the game, scenery and portraits of the characters, but all game play is audio only!
With 6 endings there is actually an ending I wonder if anyone will ever be able to get, so time will tell how much people enjoy this game! It was so fun, and I'll probably talk about it more as time goes on, but for now I'm so proud of my little entry, and I hope to hear from everyone what they think!
