Version 1.2.1 Released

The One Who Struggles
A downloadable game for Windows

Merry Holidays Folks,

Super tiny update today. I was watching someone else play and noticed a graphical bug that was pretty easy to fix. It has been the first time I booted this game up since October and, you know what? This game is actually pretty freaking hard? Dang.

Anyway! In the months since this has been released I've mostly been working on a tabletop RPG called Our Pantheon. It's pretty cool, you should check it out if you like world building games and want to play as a (petty) god. Other than that I have another ttrpg I've been working on and playtesting that's pretty cool, but I probably won't release anything about it publicly until February.

The way I am spending the last week of the year (other than being extremely vitamin D deficient) is by making a game in GB Studio. It will, of course, be connected to TOWS in some way, because that's who I am as a developer. GB Studio is pretty neat though. It exports to HTML5, a gameboy ROM, and to a format that is playable natively on the Analog Pocket. This project is just going to be a small little platformer. I want to do some of the cool Style Preference stuff I did in TOWS, but GB Studio is very limited and I'm not sure what I will be able to get away with just yet. I also picked up Aseprite because of it. For the past decade or so (probably longer) I've been doing all my pixel art in the built in GameMaker sprite editor. Comparing features, I actually think they're pretty similar. There's definite stuff that GMS2.3 has that Aseprite doesn't (but I'm still missing all the cool features that were in GM8 that GMS nor Aseprite have!)

That's all from me today. Hope you're all well and enjoying the holidays.
