Helixteus 3 Alpha v0.22 (25 Dec 2021)
- Added achievements and statistics
- Battle music! (finally) Only plays when the enemies are considerably more powerful than you
- New enemy types (both in battles and in caves)
- 5 new buildings: proton, neutron and electron collector, neutron and electron storage facility
- 2 new cave consumables: portable wormholes and drills. They do exactly what their name suggests.
- Heavily nerfed the weapon damage bonuses from universe properties
- Solar panel nerf: auroras only multiply SP output by aurora intensity without the exponent
- Stunning enemies is less OP, you won't be able to infinitely stun an enemy anymore
- No more quests for 2nd, 3rd and 4th ship, you'll automatically get them at level 20, 40 and 60. The quests will return though some time later in development
- Improved lighting in caves. This also uses a lot more CPU (and GPU?), so if the game lags, turn off shaders in settings
- The game now prevents you from sending ships to a high pressure planet if your energy output isn't high enough and you haven't researched space elevators
- Small icons appear near the cursor when ctrl and/or shift and/or alt is pressed
- Lowered atmosphere and gravity exit costs a bit
- You can now bridge holes (for free) by shift clicking
- Little animations (that can be disabled in settings) when collecting things and selling minerals, maybe this will help new players understand the game better
- Base wormhole investigation time reduced from 20 -> 15 minutes
- Revamped the rover/enemy defense mechanic in caves to match that of planet battles
- Fixed bugs and implemented some suggestions made in the itch.io comments (press J again to show help, resourced mined in a session, more cave info etc.)
v0.21 saves might be compatible with this update (I tried), but no guarantees!
