#release
At long last, the (hopefully) final version of Winter is here and ready for you to download. You can expect about 2 hours of gameplay depending on your skill level and eye for exploration. Please see the readme.html inside the zip file for gameplay details.
Please note that due to the engine originally used to make this game there are some key limitations - the game is limited to Windows only, is safest to run windowed. That said, if you are feeling adventurous, you can try running it in full screen by editing the user.cfg file and change “fullscreen 0” to “fullscreen 1”. The game’s default resolution is 320x240 but runs in a doublesize bifiltered mode to bring it up to 640x480. I strongly recommend not changing this.
The game has been completed several times by playtesters and it should be fairly free of any major crashes, but there are some issues that are still possible to run into that I was unable to easily fix. In particular, when walking into tents it is possible to get stuck if you continue to move into them. There are also some tile layering issues that I was not able to fix before release, but they should not affect gameplay.
If you do experience any crashes, please let me know. The file ika.log will contain information useful to me for debugging.
Thank you again for your interest and playing this game. Look forward to more from me in the future!
