It's been a long here, but I have part 1 up and ready to download! This is the first 2-3 hours of the game. I have definitely trimmed some off of the original launch, but I'm trying to focus more on quality over quantity now. The introduction is completely revamped, the battle system has been tweaked some, and new systems are in place. This demo will take you through many locations, 3 bosses, and several important plot points.
I'm going to take some time off and let the game breathe for a week or so, change what needs changing based on what feedback I get, and then start working on part 2 (where you'll meet a new character, be introduced to a new layer of the combat system, and learn much more about Aarlin and his crew).
You are more than welcome to add whatever feedback you like, and I'd be so grateful for it!
File Size: I am aware for an RPG Maker game it's chunky. The reason is the game itself is basically done (the skeleton, at least) and pruning through the files would more than likely lead to a lot of unintended bugs/crashes. The game size, thankfully, won't grow much.
On LGBTQIA content: This game is intended as a love letter to the LGBTQIA gaming community, in my own flavor (growing up, I always wished I could have played a gay male protagonist in JRPGs, so I could have at least had one role model). If this isn't your cup of tea, no worries! With that being said, this first part doesn't really get into this aspect much. The characters are still navigating the central story tensions, and I don't want to impede that with other issues just yet. But, rest assured, part 2 and onward there will be more LGBTQIA+ content.
