With the final touches of the last quest out of the way, this week has been all about the Tragic Bride quest! As those who voted saw, the premise for this quest is simple and straightforward. While that's great for me since I don't have to create another huge area for it, I still want to add a bit more to flesh out this quest.
The central character of this quest, Jessica can be seen and interacted with at several points during the main story as an NPC. While there is no reward for speaking to her and there is no downside to skipping these dialogues before taking on the quest itself, having these scenes fleshes out the game's events and Jessica as a character.
Some of the interactions you have with her early on can slightly alter dialogue scenes with her in the future, including the actual quest. You'll also get to see why this character is so "tragic" first-hand.
There are a total of 9 short scenes to find with her before her quest becomes available and I feel that most players on an average playthrough will not even notice these. I still think it will be a cool discovery for players who don't follow the game regularly. There are 3 scenes per chapter and you will have to return to different locations in Mor Town and Fallholt to find them. Not to worry as these locations will be clearly laid out on my updated walkthrough for those who are interested in experiencing them.
These scenes culminate during the events of chapter 3, when the vampires have overrun Fallholt Castle. This scene takes place at night now, so if you explore outside during this time, you'll not only find Jessica, but be able to see an additional bad ending with separate art than the quest's bad ending!
Adding quest characters into the world before their quest becomes available is great for world building. I get the feeling that I will be going back and doing the same for a few other characters as well.
Anyway, that's all I have for you this week! Until next time, everyone!
