Hola mis amigo, today I bring you version 13 of Covid Simulator! I'm not sure if that's a good thing, or a very dystopian thing. Lots going on this week, including the threat of a new OMICRON variant of covid that's got everyone a bit worried. Lets dive into whats new in the game though
Firstly, I gave an option to disable "Social Commentary" for those of you who are just interested in a bit more of a data driven experience. This removes pro/anti vax stuff, a few silly pop ups, profits metric, and other misc. stuff. Considering the little characters do absolutely ZERO to protect themselves outside of your input, my experience is that this actually makes things a bit WORSE for them ha ha.
I added a lot more stations to the level editor as well. I also implemented a system to "offset" the stations in case you want to align the stations a bit off center visually. I also added the ability to make doors "decorative" instead of for leaving the work place.
Finally, yesterday I devoted some time to get ahead of the Omicron strain a bit. This feature is most likely to change as time goes on. Right now, data on Omicron is so tiny that the game has a warning "THIS IS MOSTLY THEORETICAL." My hope is I can update it to be more realistic as real world date comes in. IF it ends up burning itself out and not spreading, I might even remove the feature. For now, if you're worried/curious about the difference in spread, you can try it out.
