At first, I wanted to develop it with my own 2D C engine, but I realized that it would take too long. However, I discovered a big part of 'Game Dev World' ! Graphics and engine programming, I learned a lot anyway.
Later, I decided to go with my other favorite tool, MonoGame (C#). But I had a lot of difficulty to like my code, I saw it as spaghetti code because I'm a perfectionist.
So I learned how to structure my code (and mostly I was inspired by other people's code) and finally, I am 'properly' satisfied with my code and I could start my game project!
Pixel Survival is a 2D survival game in top view. Inspired by Minicraft, itself inspired by Minecraft. Also based on Stardew Valley or Forager.
In this game, as in any survival game, you can explore, mine, build, fight, farm and more. You have a whole procedurally generated world to explore. From deep caves to ancient temples, you can explore this with your friends in a cooperative mode!
For the moment, none of this things are done, but a big part of it is almost finished and in development. The assets of the game were made by me with a PICO-8 palette and I know, I'm not an artist. (So, if a pixel-artists is available..) You can test the very 'basic' terrain generation by downloading my game on my page!
Thanks for reading this.
