This is a big one. I went ahead and wrote a tighter structure to handle scenes and actions.
I also changed the dice mechanics so that everything (well, almost) happens with 3d6 and Advantage/Disadvantage. Transhuman Insight still explodes dice, though.
I think the game has improved but also changed its nature very much. I think I'd rather call it a story-telling game more than a role-playing game.
The new structure has made all the issues about drones and chases and hacking fly out of the window.
Drones are Gear that can help in a specific Scene, as the Matrix and chases are simply "locations" for Scenes that require specific Action Rolls.
At the same time, the new structure has made me question the need for specific combat mechanics.
Combat will very likely be a special kind of Complication in the next release: no areas, no movement (well, maybe a roll to escape if you don't want to meet the Hostile Squad).
Another thing that is likely to go, is NPC reaction rolls and all that jazz about changing NPCs' reactions step-y-step, unless I can find a way of making this work in the framework I put up for Scenes.
As, usual, please leave a comment.
Cheers
