Hello everyone! Welcome to Rocket Pimp dev diary 1, an introduction of the game.
I’m Petter, and the developer of Rocket Pimp, an upcoming PC game which today has been opened to public testing at https://xilera.itch.io/rocket-pimp in a very early state, to try out where we collectively want to go from here in terms of direction. Naturally, the game might be renamed at a later point, but if the public is okay with Rocket Pimp, then that’s what it will be called!
First, let me tell you about what Rocket Pimp is intended to become: A Minecraft/Robocraft-inspired vehicle building and multiplayer base capture game with:
At this point, most gameplay is subject to potential revamping. If you don’t like something, we change it. Let me know what you think through these portals:
If you’re familiar with e.g. Robocraft, you should know that I’m very keen to avoid making the mistakes that game did. I need to respect the player base, that does not mean everyone can be happy, but it does mean doing my most to understand the prevalent opinion of active players and align decisions with their guidance.
The upcoming weeks we are primarily testing networking and player retention and therefore won’t change much. After that, the initial focus will be on:
Finally, we are also considering to grow the team by initially contracting freelancers and then potentially converting such roles to permanent positions if our joint results permit so. If you loved e.g. Robocraft and have matching Unity C# programming or 3D graphical skills (or passion to acquire such), let me know.
Let’s make an awesome game!
