#mc simulator #v0.1.8 #public release
Version 0.1.8 is considered the first part of a major update that includes new features and a revamped item and inventory system.
One of my goals when I started developing MC Sim was to make the city feel "alive" and I feel I haven't achieved that yet.
And that brings me to this update, v0.1.8 introduces a new activity in the city, fishing. Fishing is an efficient method of making money in MC Simulator, either by selling the fish you catch or by using them as ingredients (coming soon).
The new fishing mini-game is quite simple: You need to click on the fish before it changes position. There are two factors involved in this mini-game, the first one is how much the fishing gauge increases with each click and the second one is how long it takes the fish to change position.
Some fish are more difficult to catch than others, in those cases, upgrading your fishing equipment can increase your chances of catching them.
For example:
Fishing is not just about making money, it will also be part of the story of a new girl: Noelle.
Noelle is a fishing enthusiast and one of her goals is to open her own fishing store. To achieve that, MC will have to sell her as many fish as he can.
She spends her mornings fishing on the outskirts of town, where she will also sell us fishing equipment and buy our fish for a higher price than in other stores.
By selling Noelle a certain amount of fish, she'll be able to open her store, which will pay even more for your fish, sell more and better fishing equipment and become a love interest.
Completely reworked the inventory system, this includes the rewards obtained after completing quests, the store, how items are displayed and in general how they work.
New item categories have been added along with filters.
As I mentioned in a previous post, skills will be added in version 0.1.8, and their main purpose will be earning money.
You will be able to equip different types of equipment depending on the activity you want to do, these activities are linked to Skills.
For example: If you want to fish, you will require equipment that will make it easier to catch rarer fish. The more difficult a fish is to catch, the higher its selling price will be.
But if you want to cook, you will require another kind of equipment.
You can finally spend some time with Amy and get to know her a little better.
After being accepted into her new job, Amy will meet her new co-worker who can be a little difficult to deal with.
Amy's route includes a new location and new characters.
As I mentioned before, v0.1.8 is the first part of a major update, the second part will include a new feature that will require you to invest money in order to progress.
The next version will also include the possibility to upgrade your equipment, not only fishing equipment but also all kinds of equipment that can be purchased or crafted in the future.
I would like to thank you all for supporting the development of MC Simulator, this would not be possible without you!
With this update I've realized that being a game developer is quite fun and rewarding, so I'm devoting more time to the development of MC Simulator, not to mention that we are getting close to reaching our goal of 100 Patrons!
When I reach 100 Patrons, I will dedicate 100% of my time to game development and I will start developing a new one.
I already have plans for my new project, from the tools I will use to the type of game it will be. I plan to create a 3D free roam game with an open world (in sections).
For this project, I will adopt a mechanic similar to MC Simulator, where you can spend time with a love interest and learn more about them.
For now the gameplay is not fully decided, but the best prospect so far is a farming / life simulator. And of course it will be an adult game.
It's getting a bit difficult to test the game on my own, I would really appreciate if you report any bugs you find to my discord server. Thanks.
