The base game updates clear up some wording, making it clear you can invoke multiple specialties at once.
It also adds circumstantial bonuses, with suggestions that you might get these when using stolen enemy equipment or when your squad has good positioning. I've also changed the Soldier Sacrifice rules. It use to be you could sacrifice for a bonus die.
This made Self Sacrifice less useful than just spending gear. So to encourage you to do it more, I changed it to this.
"A soldier can Self Sacrifice at anytime to automatically succeed, even after rolling."
Which is more juicy in my opinion.
I've also update some of the base fireteams.
Operators being the most heavily changed. They have new specialties and gear, this makes them a little more interesting to play.
To cover for some of the gear being shuffled around, Raiders and Assassins also got gear changes, but more minor.
Raiders got more Hellfire weapons and were made more fighty.
Assassins also had some words added to their gear to make it clearer what stuff was. They also now have a climbing harness. (the Assent Line System, so I guess more like a grappling hook.)
