Feral Flowers launches!

Feral Flowers
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Feral Flowers v1 has arrived for Windows, Linux and macOS! Grab yourself a bag of local honey, kleenex & antihistamine and get stuck in. We're aware it would've been far funnier to launch this in spring, but whatever. Maybe we'll just bump the adverts up a notch in March or run a joint campaign with Piriteze or something.

Since we made this post, there have been updates! v1.0.4 is the latest, which includes a volume control, fixes the game for those of you with vertical monitors, and sorts out a crash at the end of the game (of all places). Your saves won't disappear if you update.

This has been a pretty mad couple of weeks for all involved, but we're glad to say the game is now in a relatively stable state and has been rigorously tested by our fine team of pint-and-chips-for-a-favour-acceptors.

Additionally, we've got a few changes (and todos, fun facts) about the game to announce:

  • Valve has yet to approve the game for Steam. Steam keys are now available - if you've bought the game already you should now be able to request one. Your saves should also work in Steam automatically, but make sure you're playing the Steam version if you want achievements tracked.
  • There'll be a new trailer soon! The current one is looking a bit antiquated at this point - especially the title screen.
  • We've removed the 'bullet hell' tag. Much as we've liked thinking of it as danmaku, it just isn't - at least for the most part. There are only a couple of screens that come close to being bullet hell.
  • The soundtrack will be out soon (hopefully in a couple of weeks) on Bandcamp. There's still a fair bit of tweaking to do beforehand such that things feel a bit more joined-up and album-esque.
  • In total, the final boss stage took roughly 10 times as long to implement as stage 1-9. Which, er, is why it's releasing now rather than two months ago.

To all of you who've tested, advised, bought and raged at the game: thank you, so much. Though getting Feral Flowers ready to launch has been utterly frustrating at points, the dev process has been 99% great fun, and as we mentioned before, there's more to come.【星川】
