Hey guys,
It's finally here, the trailer is still hot and steamy (pun intended)
The last weeks were exhausting ! I had to work on a lot of things to make proper clips. And as always I forget everything I have done xD
Let's see ...
Last but foremost, I shot a trailer. My musician friend gave me a new version of the theme with deeper drums, it's neat. I shot some gameplay footage of the introduction cinematic, some gameplay with my crazy crates and slingshot, and some clips with traveling . I used shotcut to make the montage (dont need to lose more money on licence ^^). I have to say that this soft may be slow and easy to crash, but having all the tools an artists needs is a bless.
It's a difficult task to sum up a game within 2 minutes, and I learn some things with my researches. First, most of indie trailer are quiet cheap, so you don't need to make an oscar winning movie. Then rhythm is the hardest thing to get ! I tried to stick as I could to the music, and I got a smooth progression : slow an contemplative at start, then mysterious developpement, the tension grows and you punch with gameplay footage, and then an uppercut with flashes of footage. The viewer is content so you finish it with an intriguing clip and finally show your flamboyant title ( and then all the intel). That was my secret recipe ;)
But before all that, I needed a proper setup :
With all that, I manage to make a proper trailer, and my next objective is to publish the steam page.
See ya !
