Thanks for your patience. Because I'm coding on a Mac, I'm unfamiliar with how Windows Defender handles unsigned apps. After extensive research and testing on some friends' PCs, I've come up with the following solution.

If you’re encountering issues running CAKES on Windows (Windows 10 v21h1)...

Windows 10 v21h1:

1. Select Start > Settings.
2. Click Update & Security.
3. Select Windows Security.
4. Click the Open Windows Security button.
5. Select App & Browser Control > Reputation-based Protection.
6. Toggle Potentially Unwanted App Blocking to turn the feature on or off. 

Note: If left on, select whether you want both apps and downloads blocked, or just one of the two.
