#Playtest
Playtesters- Jose Otero, Jose Castillo, Victor Diaz
Purpose-
The purpose of this play-test was to define the player experience in our game. Play-throughs of this level would allow us to test not only the smoothness of play but how to challenge player expectations in future levels. We wanted to see how fast players were to adapt to a change in environment. Also how players reacted t a 2d environment in a 3d space.
Participants-
Participants who were 15-35 in age.
Players were 2 teenagers males and 3 adult males of varying ages. the location for the play-test was at one of the creators home. We felt this atmosphere would allow for the most consistent experience to rate.
Player Engagement-
We had each of the play-testers make several runs through the level. After a few runs players knew had developed a sense of direction in the darkened scene. Since this was more of a test repetition was based on our need as a team to smooth out the environment.
Observations-
We noticed that the darkness wasn't only a challenge but that we had created blank spaces..areas in which the player would most likely not explore. Once a player was use to the environment their ability to traverse the scene quickened and removed all unease. As we played we knew the general direction of our goal and in could in some instances avoid all other objects except the exit.
