Game Development State Report 12

Game Development State Report 12...

Indeed... the game has been tested, it can be finished with no bugs... what now?

I decided to go all in - game will not be made using default RPG maker art resources. This means I'll need to make a working demo with new art. It will consist of Prologue scenes.

This is a big deal actually, but no one will shed tears if I don't manage to gain some money to finish it all...

I know, it's not the truth - many will cry, but let's be brave and pretend! Brave people pretend a lot!

Before all that I need to brush up on my other skills. I'm currently developing my new and never before seen pixelart skill! And this is important, because I want for JKA2 Prologue scenes to look absolutely fantastic!

Of course, I'm not just making art for the sake of it, I also want to try it in a real life environment - which means I'm putting this art into a game engine (because that's a real life environment for a game art, you know?). And since I never made an entire 2D game by myself (RPG maker has a bunch of stuff already there so I'm not counting it as a low level development), I decided to make a small platformer game using Unity. I will use only Unity developed official stuff, so no 3rd party packages. I want to learn how things work.

This test game should be finished by December. It will consist of main tilesets, player character and few enemies/traps... so, just essentials but with working mechanics.

And it also needs to have all the things the game should have - menus, sounds, music, some dialogues/texts...

I like to make projects wholly developed and easily upgradable, as polished as possible in its gaming mechanics and made in such a way that art and levels could be easily changed or added. Hopefully I'll manage to do it.

Well... that's it for now!

P.S.

I challenge you! Try to develop something while listening to this:

...in a loop!
