Finally you'll be able to learn the ropes of the game while playing!
While the 'How to Play' was fairly descriptive, nothing beats being able to learn how to play a game while playing the actual game. Expect helpful tooltips for different objects on hover and a tutorial while playing and experiencing key game events for the first time. It's never been easier to jump into playing that with this update.
What we got?
- Tutorial ๐
- When you're playing for the first time, you will receive some 'Quick Start' tips on certain events. They're there to help you, so reading them is advisable โ๏ธ.
- Tips ๐โโ๏ธ
- Hovering your Mouse๐ฑ๏ธ over certain world objects and UI elements can wield tips and instructions on what they represent and how to use them.
- Additionally, World ๐ objects of interest are now highlighted on hover, to bring out the fact that there's something about them.
- Cannons ๐ฃ
- Now have a minimum charge time, so they don't just do 'plop' on light fire.
- Gameplay ๐ฎ
- You now have a small combat log right next to your Chat ๐ฌ, showing your damage dealt (>), taken (-), and healed (+).
- Max player Camera ๐ฅ zoom reduced based on feedback (while observing the player avatar, ship/cannon ranges unchanged).
- No longer leaving your controlled objects with the 'E' โจ๏ธ key, now using 'Ctrl' โจ๏ธ keys instead, based on feedback.
- UI ๐ป
- Questions โ UI is now improved to match the rest of the UI elements.
- Chat ๐ฌ panels no longer with single letters, but now having their full names spelled out.
- Crew ๐ดโโ ๏ธ members UI improved for visibility and readability.
- Others ๐๏ธ
- Questions โ with double answers removed until further notice, as the answer submission process wasn't intuitive enough.
- Certain trees that stick out from the island and are able to make your ship stuck are removed.
What's coming up?
Exciting news, I now have the help of Evelin, a tutor and a philologist to help me compile, curate and improve the questions and educational experience of our little project! Stay tuned for more!
